presentation time....(^__^)

Now, time for me to prepare myself on my demo day...i need to design for my poster, prepare what are the things needed to to answer my assessors and prepare research to do my final reports...It's a hectic week, due to I must make sure that my project is working, preparing my video of testimonials, posters...woahhh, a lot of work to be done...this is my project poster,

Simple poster...but the information I guess is enough to speak what I suppose to explain to the lecturers who assess me...I'm nervous, huhuhuhuhu....

Objectives:
  • To test a level of understanding for my final year project.
  • To present about the electronic sleep inducer; the performance or what have been achieved.
  • To improve myself, in terms of knowledge, presentation and communication.
Content / Procedure:
  • Refer to FYP scheme, presentation degree semester 2 to prepare a material.
  • Discuss with supervisor, about how to tackle the question.
  • Ensure the prototype in high good condition.

time to test the circuit....

Yess..it is the time to test my project, it is time to prove that my project is working. What I did was by taking some testimonials from my friends that uses this device. These are few testimonials from the subject that has been taken....most of the subjects said that it really induces sleep. Apart from that, I need to do further research on the result analysis as well because the project is not just related to the testimonials only, but I need concrete analysis on how actually the radiator coil can induces sleep.

completion of the project.....

Finally, after completing the design of the project, as well as the radiator coil..the project can begin to be tested to people. Eventually, the project was working..once I switch on the device, the led blinks and where the radiator coil is applied, the led light would be dimmer. That shows the device can be used. But at the same time, now it is time to test my circuit on the subject. This is to prove that the device can really induce sleep...

This is the complete circuit after designing, soldering and winding coil is being done. It is important to me to test the circuit in order to make sure that this device actually can work out.

radiator coil...core of the electronic sleep inducer

After working on the circuit for few weeks, I decided to continue my project on working out on my radiator coil. This coil is the most important element in the project. Because, without that..I could not run the project, in other words..i couldn't induce sleep, how am I going to test my project, hehehehe...so, to create the radiator coil, what I did was by getting a 40 mm steel bolt with a 6mm diameter..and winding it with a 0.2mm enameled wire for about 600 turns. It takes time to wind the wire due to the wire is very thin and easy to break. So high concentration needed in order to wind it perfectly.

This is one of the technique used to wind the wires on the steel bolt.

redo the circuit...=((

eventually, after designing the circuit...it didn't work out well due to wrong connection...it was a disaster when the circuit i designed did not worked properly...i didn't know what to do, whether to troubleshoot the circuit or redo again. It was difficult to identify where was the mistake, and time was running fast. Then, I figure out on to do the circuit again and that time, I had no choice but to redo the circuit but this time...I am using the strip board to complete my project. Well, it is a lot difficult rather than etching, due to designing a project by using the strip board needs high concentration to connect the jumper wires for each components. I took time to construct the circuit. These are the pictures that uses the strip board.

This is the picture roughly on the design on the circuit. It is a bit complicated, but that also teaches me on how to solder it. It also requires good soldering to make sure that the component doesn't come out.

design and etching

i started my design of my circuit for the etching process, it was a wonderful experience when i learn on how to design and etch my own circuit, where there are few methods on how to do the etching process, those days the process of etching needs tracks, ic's and dots where these 3 things are important to trace on the pcb board. From the circuit itself we can draw the dots on where are the components are placed. Other than that, the  latest technology requires on using the quick pcb software where just place the components on the drawing and connect the joint. I did the old way where once i design my pcb board, next i just trace the sticker on the pcb board. After tracing, the board is ready to etch..the other ways is to print out the design, lay on the pcb board and iron onto it. Then the process of etch is ready to be done.

studying the datasheet of the ic's

i manage to find out and study the function on how n why to use the ic's in the circuit, well...the ic used are 4060 n 4093..from here, i know that the 4093 ic is an ic schmitt trigger, whereby this ic is important to shape the wave to send input to the ic 4060...the ic 4060 is the 14 ripple stage counter and oscillator ic, it is used to set time for the electronic sleep inducer...it is important to have this two ic's, due to the the 4093 ic is turning the sin wave to square wave, and the 4060 ic is to interpret the data, to receive the waves and change it into the signals needed...
